Natural Pine Floater Frame

The unpainted and unvarnished natural pine frame provides a warm, contemporary finish. It can be displayed naturally or customised with a compatible paint, stain or varnish to complement the finished artwork.

Always test your chosen coating first and follow its preparation and application instructions.

How to Attach the Canvas to the Floater Frame

  1. Remove the stretched canvas from the frame before painting.
  2. Complete the artwork and allow it to dry fully.
  3. Place the artwork face down on a clean, soft surface.
  4. Position the floater frame evenly around the canvas.
  5. Carefully hold the canvas and frame together while turning them over.
  6. Check that the gap around the canvas is even.
  7. Insert the supplied screws through the predrilled holes and into the wooden stretcher bars.
  8. Confirm that the canvas is secure and correctly aligned before hanging.

Use suitable wall fixings for the wall type and the combined weight of the artwork and frame.

Frequently Asked Questions About LUCA Premium Floating Canvas

Does this product include both the canvas and frame?

Yes. It includes a stretched cotton canvas, a removable natural pine floater frame and the specified mounting and hanging accessories.

Should I remove the canvas before painting?

Yes. Painting with the canvas removed protects the frame and provides easier access to the canvas edges. Reattach the canvas only after the artwork has dried sufficiently.

Is the canvas already primed?

Yes. The canvas is triple primed with artist-grade acrylic gesso over a foundation sealer.

Can I use acrylic and oil paint?

Yes. The prepared canvas surface is suitable for both acrylic and oil painting.

What does 12 oz canvas mean?

The 12 oz measurement describes the weight of the canvas fabric. It provides a substantial painting surface suitable for artists seeking a heavier canvas.

Is the floater frame finished?

No. The natural pine frame is supplied unpainted and unvarnished. It can be left natural or customised with a compatible finish.

Is mounting hardware included?

Screws and hanging rings are included. Appropriate wall fixings may need to be purchased separately according to your wall type.

Why does the canvas appear to float?

The canvas is mounted with a narrow visible gap between its edges and the surrounding frame. This creates the floating effect without covering the painted edges.
