The PITT pastel pencils contain a high level of pigment, but are wax and oil free, and are perfectly suited for fine details in pastels. Just like the Polychromos pastel crayons they can be easily smudged to create fine colour transitions and perfectly complement the pastel crayons. Only minimal fixing is required, ensuring that the pastel drawings retain their vividness of colour.

Great pastels, it doesn't take long to actually cover the paper without crushing the paper. Colours are vibrant, even with several layers underneath. Very pleased with these pastel pencils.

These pencils are not always easy to find but they are my favourites. The strength, consistency and colours are all good.

Don't try to use on water colour paper.
I bought the pencils for my husband who mainly does watercolouring. I saw some work by a Quirindi local in them which I thought was amazing, the bloke is a really good drawer. Since we didn't have paper the right size for something I wanted him to do, hubby tried them on water colour paper - no good but he may use them on top of the water colour paint, see how it goes.
