Description

Cold Wax Medium is made from naturally white, pure beeswax. Formulated to knife consistency, Cold Wax Medium makes oil colours, Gamblin Mediums, and Gamvar thicker and more matte. It can also be applied alone as a matte varnish.

I find this product a very useful medium when working in oils, allowing an immediacy for layering and blending to create interesting atmospheric or weathered surfaces. Cold wax is used at room temperature and the painted surface can be scraped or incised to create textures and depth.
