Description

Cold Wax Medium is made from naturally white, pure beeswax. Formulated to knife consistency, Cold Wax Medium makes oil colours, Gamblin Mediums, and Gamvar thicker and more matte. It can also be applied alone as a matte varnish.

Great as a finish

Echoing what another reviewer said, just to advise others -- even though I don't paint with oils, this is a GREAT finish for watercolours, gouache, and markers (probably others too but those are what I work with). It adds a depth of color and leaves a beautiful matte surface and is very easy to work with. I finish most of my pieces with this.

Good quality

Works well as a watercolour painting sealer, the reason I purchased it. Rub into the paper with gloves and it leave a smooth, waterproof surface.
